March 5

Fine arts and antiques appraisers from international auctioneers Bonhams & Butterfields will conduct appraisals onsite at Bellevue Arts Museum  on March 5, 2009 as a fundraising event for the institution. Museum supporters and friends are invited to bring their family treasures – as many as five objects – from paintings and prints to decorative arts and silver (and photographs of larger items) for inspections and an at-auction value.

March 7

MoNA Style 2009. The Museum of Northwest Art will hold its annual fundraiser, MoNA Style, on Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 10am-4pm. More than 20 selected artists from the Northwest will show and sell their artist-designed clothing, jewelry, textiles and other handcrafted items on the second floor of the museum. Admission to the event is free. Proceeds, after commissions to the artists, support the museum's educational programs and exhibitions.

March 7 & 8

Whidbey Island working artists’ 6th annual Spring Art Studio Tour held from 10-5 on Saturday and Sunday includes 38 artists at 27 studios. Follow the bolded link for more information an a map. A special exhibit will be at the Coupeville Rec Hall on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 during Mussel Festival hours at 901 NW Alexander St.

March 8

Urban Art Fair takes place from Noon-5pm at 855 Hiawatha Place South, and celebrates Northwest artists and arts organizations located at the Hiawatha Artist Lofts in Seattle’s Central District. The fair is presented by C Art Gallery and My World Dance. A special reception for Charles Bibbs, who will be presenting over 100 pieces of his work over the weekend, will be held at the C Art Gallery on Saturday from 6:30 to 8pm.   For more information, call 206.554.9444.
