The Kirsten Gallery, 5320 Roosevelt Way NE in Seattle, hosts the annual Northwest Watercolor Society Members Exhibition this year from October 12 – November 7. This annual event showcases the best of the society’s membership, featuring paintings selected by nationally-known watercolorist Don Andrews, 2010 juror. $3,000 in cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded to winning artists at the show’s reception and awards ceremony on Sunday, October 24 from 2-4pm.
Showing at the Cole Gallery, 107 5th Avenue South in Edmonds, from May 19 through June 16, are the watercolors of Bev Jozwiak. Jozwiak has been featured in numerous magazines, won the Betsy Dillard Stroud Creative Challenge in Watercolor Magic Magazine and is a National Watercolor Society Signature member. A champagne reception for the artist will take place on May 20 from 5-8:30pm during the Edmonds Art Walk. Shown: Coat of Many Colors by Bev Jozwiak.
Good Earth Pottery, 1000 Harris Street in Bellingham’s Fairhaven district, is featuring the sculptural watercolors of Jayme Culey for the month of May. Hand-built and low-fired white clay become a receptive surface for watercolors, pencils and collage.
