Tacoma Art Museum symposium on western art. The symposium is open to the public and is particularly relevant to enthusiasts and students of art, history, the environment, and the American West. The event takes place Saturday, April 23. Check in starting at 9:00 am and enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast.

 

Mighty Tieton  Open House from 10am-3pm. Tieton Arts & Humanities’ annual Student Art Exhibition will feature over 200 works by K-12  students in the Highland, Naches, and West Valley school districts. There is an awards ceremony for the kids at 2:00 pm. Located at 608 Wisconsin Ave, Tieton, WA .

 

April 24

sculptureInternational Sculpture Day on April 24, Sculpture Northwest Gallery and the City of Bellingham have collaborated on the Downtown Sculpture Exhibition.  The outdoor exhibition features the sculpture of prominent Pacific Northwest sculptors:  Ann Morris (Eagle Arm); Jason Reed Brown (Raven II); David Kitts (Giant Mailbox); Aaron Loveitt (Hollow); Thor Myhre (Buddha); Christopher Pauley (Two Cats on a Bicycle and Red Bird Apartment House)  Lillian Pitt (She Follows the Dreams and Dreaming About Weaving Baskets). Displayed at various locations in the Bellingham Arts District and central downtown areas. 

 

Arty Party at the Henry Art Gallery on the University of Washington campus from 1-4pm. Discover new taste buds, shift your sense of time, and explore art with your whole body in an afternoon full of artist and youth-led FREE activities.

The 49th Annual Grayland Driftwood Show and Glass Float Roundup in the Grayland Community Hall on Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm. The Driftwood Show attracts entries of all types including driftwood creations that are ‘finished’ or ‘natural’; driftwood carvings and floral arrangements on driftwood.

Mavi Contemporary open tonight 5-9pm for the Tacoma Art Walk

Mavi Contemporary Art, 502 Sixth Avenue in Tacoma, wants all to remember the Tacoma Art Walk  tonight and to come by, sip some wine and meet the 20 artists showing in “Zoom in Tacoma,” their exhibit in collaboration with the Tacoma Art Museum. The reception is from 5-9pm.
