Connie Townsend’s Animal Art at Howard/Mandville

Howard/Mandville Gallery American Impressionist Society Show

howardmandvilleOpening September 29 at  the Howard/Mandville Gallery, 120 Park Lane in Kirkland is the 17th Annual American Impressionist  Society National Juried Exhibition. AIS Master, Calvin Liang, will be the judge of awards this year. Opening reception and awards presentation will be held on Thursday, September 29 from 5 to 8pm. Calvin will also present a free painting demonstration on Friday, September 30th from 6 to 8pm. The exhibition runs through October 30. In conjunction with this event, on Saturday, October 1, an all member plein air paint out will take place along the shores of Lake Washington in downtown Kirkland. Members will spend the day creating works en plein air. The pieces will then be displayed and offered for sale back at the gallery from 2-4pm. Shown: Knitters Gift by Adam Clague

A Contemporary Showcase Opens at Howard/Mandville

hoardOpening in a reception  on August 12 from 5-8pm at Howard/Mandville Gallery, 120 Park Lane in Kirkland, is “A Contemporary Showcase.”  Showing are new works from familiar gallery artists Quincy Anderson, Leslie Balleweg, Rich Bowman, Melanie Ferguson, Chuck Gumpert, Craig Kosak, Tracey Lane, Christopher Mathie, Steve Reinmuth  and Sharon Spencer plus new gallery artists Corinne Geertsen and Agnieszka Pilat. The show runs through September 4.

Howard/Mandville Features Suko and Kustusch Exhibition

Renato Muccillo New Work at Howard/Mandville June 11

howardOpening June 11 from 5-7pm at the Howard/Mandville Gallery, 120 Park Lane in Kirkland, is “Expressions of Nature,” new paintings by Renato Muccillo. A member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), he received three awards in 2003 at juried shows hosted by the organization. At the Changing Light show, he was awarded both a People’s Choice Award and an Award of Excellence. The artist also won an Award of Excellence at Altered States, the federation’s abstract art exhibit. The show runs through July 10. Shown: Valley Fires.

Howard/Mandville Gallery Showcases Fred Calleri & Teresa Saia

howardmanvilleA two-person show featuring new paintings by Fred Calleri and Teresa Saia opens in a reception from 5-7pm today at the Howard/Mandville Gallery, 120 Park Lane in Kirkland. Teresa Saia is an established member of the Seattle art community and has developed a strong following with both private and corporate collectors as she has won many competitions. Calleri’s studies of masters such as Zorn, Sargent, Vermeer, Sorolla as well as living masters has inspired him to create classic and romantic images using the master’s palette and mood for an emotional reaction. The historical or ‘period’ nature of the work lends itself to a style and palette that he enjoys and reaches back to a seemingly simpler time. Shown: Autumn Begins by Teresa Saia.

A Sense of Place Opening at Howard/Mandville in Kirkland

howard“A Sense of Place,” featuring new works by Diane Ainsworth, Marc Bohne, Mark Boyle, Alfred Currier, Michael Ferguson, Kim Matthews Wheaton and Romona Youngquist, opens tonight from 5-7pm at the Howard/Mandville Gallery, 120 Park Lane in Kirkland. Each artist will present a selection of five to seven new paintings reflecting his/her connection to the land and will be in attendance at the opening night reception. Kent Lovelace Show Opens at Howard/Mandville March 19

howardHoward/Mandville Gallery, 120 Park Lane in Kirkland, introduces Kent Lovelace’s newest work, which gives  an intimate view of his Whidbey Island surroundings, revealing his reverence for the natural world.  This collection focuses on the many species of birds that frequent his property as well as landscapes from around Whidbey and neighboring Skagit Valley.  Kent’s unique medium of oil on copper dates back to classical 15th C. Shining the Light on Anne Schreivogl at Howard/Mandville

howardHoward/Mandville Gallery, 120 Park Lane in Kirkland, shines the spotlight on Anne Schreivogl during the Kirkland Art Walk tonight from 5-8pm. Seattle native Schreivogl has been the subject of numerous media articles in the northwest, most recently in American Art Collector, October 2009, and named Best of the West for the Northwest by Southwest Art Magazine, August 2006. She was also the featured poster artist for the Anacortes Jazz Festival (2004, 2005), the Anacortes Arts Festival (2006), among others. Winter Showcase Unveils February 12 at Howard/Mandville

Andre Kohn Show Now at Howard/Mandville Gallery

A preeminent leader of Figurative Impressionism, Andre Kohn, is currently showing his latest work at the Howard/Mandville Gallery, 120 Park Lane in Kirkland. Now living in America, the Russian artist received a formal art education from the University of Moscow where he studied with members of the last great generation of Russian Impressionists. 25th Annual Invitational Small Works Exhibition at Howard/Mandville Gallery in Kirkland through November 8
