Pilchuck Glass School  will hold its 35th Annual Auction Gala at The Westin Seattle on October 18. A leading showcase for contemporary glass created by artists from around the world, the event features more than 350 artworks and funds raised support the school’s dynamic educational programs. Ticket prices start at $250 for individuals. R.S.V.P  for the auction gala by October 11.

Show Brazil! and the VamoLa Drum & Dance Ensemble kicks off summer at 5:30pm at the Seattle Art Museum Olympic Sculpture Park. Music and art-filled Thursday evenings with food trucks, a rocking SAM Remix at OSP in August and the season-closing Salmon Return Family Festival in September will punctuate the season. Seattle residents and visitors can count on a range of weekly events from lively jazz and rock performances to outdoor yoga, Zumba and drawing in the park and more.

The Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs will dedicate Elizabeth Conner’s Painting and Sculpting the Land and Drawing the Land at the Jefferson Park Jubilee opening ceremony in Beacon Hill, noon to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 14. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artist following the opening ceremony, which will feature Mayor Mike McGinn, Councilmember Sally Bagshaw, Consul General of Japan Kiyokazu Ota and Public Art Program Director Ruri Yampolsky, among others. The two works were commissioned by the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs with 1% for Art funds.

Glass Art Society 41st Annual Conference at the Sheraton Hotel  in Seattle. The Museum of Glass in Tacoma kicks off the conference with special  glassblowing demonstrations on June 1 and which continue through June 5.

SAM  Remix celebrates the final days of the “bejeweled and carnivalicious” exhibition Nick Cave: Meet Me at the Center of the Earth on Friday, June 3. The entire museum will be alive with Seattle’s hottest DJ’s, dance performances, interactive art-making, live music, “My Favorite Things Tours” and more. Remix takes place from 8 pm – midnight at the Seattle Art Museum  (SAM), 1300 First Avenue. TASTE Restaurant will be open until midnight and the Russell Center Parking Garage will be open until 1 am.
