Throughout December, Kirkland Arts Center  will be hosting our Holiday Art Market. On sale will be work from over 50 artists; everything from ceramics to holiday cards to jewelry and more. The Holiday Art Market is a wonderful introduction to local artists and the KAC community.  Holiday hours thru December 24 are Tuesday – Saturday from 11-6 and Sunday 12-5.

 

December 17 – January 1

Between Saturday, Dec. 17, and Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, the Washington State Historical Society will host the 21st annual Model Train Festival at the Washington State History Museum  in Tacoma. This year’s festival will feature even more model train layouts than in years past, as well as highlight train-related exhibits in the Great Hall of Washington History.

samThe Henry Art Gallery  and Seattle Art Museum  join forces for the August Remix at the Olympic Sculpture Park with an evening of music, performance, poetry, film, and tours. Seattle-based musician and producer Erik Blood headlines the event. Blood’s most recent album Lost In Slow Motion (2016) ranges from cosmic poetics to atmospheric aesthetics and has been called “a sonic call to the stars” (Jake Uitti, Seattle Times). The Anacortes Arts Festival Arts at the Port in the Port Transit Shed includes 45 artists from around the country, juried by Barbara Shaiman, former Director of the Seattle Art Museum SAM Gallery.  The work includes both 2D & 3D, encompassing a variety of mediums.   Represented in the Allen Family Focus Gallery are artists Anne Schreivogl, Sue Roberts & Graham Schodda, with work relating to the theme “Levity”.   Our  K-12 youth art exhibit rounds out Arts at the Port.   We will be open until 9 that evening, and will also have entertainment on our Port Stage – plus the Waterfront Pub on the Port dock open.

scottmiloScott Milo Gallery presents an installation exhibition titled "Celestial Core Samples” by Lanny Bergner. Art pieces are made out of flame treated stainless steel mesh with aluminum and brass mesh inside the forms. Bergner will also have his flame painted tables and vessels.  Also showing are acrylics by Dianna Shyne, photo encaustics by Kathy Hastings, color photographs by Randy Dana, oils by Donna Nevitt Radtke and a new selection of glass, sculptures and jewelry. The Majestic Inn and Spa features paintings by Lyn Linder.  During her years of custom design work, Lyn developed her unique style as an interior designer, combining light, shadow and color to bring an emotional connection to each room. Bellevue Festival of the Arts This Weekend
