Bainbridge Island Summer Studio Tour, 10am – 6pm daily. Features regional artists in local studios. Forty-three artists will be on hand showcasing their work in four local artists’ studios. The studios will be filled with fine, hand-crafted work, like jewelry, pottery, metal art, paintings, garden art, and photography. The studios are open 10 to 6 on Friday and Saturday, and 10 to 5 on Sunday. The Studio Tour is a free self-guided tour, with live music, and refreshments. Seattle Art Fair August 4 – 6

We’ve already toimageld you about this grand art event held at Century Link Field in Seattle. But, just in case you forgot, here’s a reminder. This is just about the busiest week I can remember for the art world here as there are numerous art walks and events throughout the Puget Sound area.  For the third year in a row, the Seattle Art Fair contributes to  the arts as thousands of people pour into Pioneer Square to see art from over 100 galleries around the world as well as 15 from Seattle.

Anacortes Arts Festival August 4 – 6

anacortesartThe 56th annual Anacortes Arts Festival is one of the oldest and largest arts festivals in the Northwest.  2017 dates are August 4 – 6.   Filling historic downtown Anacortes, it consists of ten blocks of booth artisans from around the country, three stages with live music, and a regional Fine Art Exhibition.  Also included are a Working Studios area including sand sculpting, chainsaw carving and more.  Food trucks and vendors offer culinary treats including seafood, regional and ethnic dishes, and goodies.  Three beer gardens pour micro brews, Northwest wine and cocktails.    An active Kids Area and Art Dash (certified half marathon, 10k, 5k), round out Festival activities. Jody Bergsma Show at Scott Milo in Anacortes Opens Tonight in Conjunction with the Opening of Anacortes Arts Festival

scottScott Milo Gallery, 420 Commercial Avenue in Anacortes, welcomes renowned Bellingham artist, Jody Bergsma to the gallery with her new genre of work in acrylic with mixed media metallic. Bergsma brings florals, birds and landscapes with metallic mixed media accents. Also showing are encaustic paintings by Marilee Holm, oils by Lorna Libert, acrylics by Cynthia Richardson and pastels by Jan Wall. safSeattle Art Fair at the Century Link Field Event Center. — ​The third edition of Seattle Art Fair, presented by AIG. Situated in the heart of Seattle, with 100 galleries presenting the best in modern and contemporary art the fair ​returns with dynamic programming spread throughout the neighborhood, with large-scale works by local and international artists, and daily artist dialogues. This year, the installations and experiences will examine the many ways today’s artists engage with architecture and design, public space, and the histories and conditions of social activism. Purchase a ticket to the Beneficiary Preview event on Thursday, August 3, and be one of the first to view this year’s art and experience the Fair before it opens to the public Friday, August 4. Plus, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to this event will go to support two local arts organizations – Arts Corps and Coyote Central.

It’s the standout of the Bellevue Arts Fair Weekend,  by artists, for artists, and gives back to the community around it! Announcing the 2017 Bellevue Festival of the Arts! As one of the Eastside’s leading arts festivals and now in its 33rd triumphant year, the BFoA returns July 28-30, 2017 in downtown Bellevue, Washington. Presented by the Craft Cooperative of the Northwest, the BFoA curates an award-winning show of rich and diverse multiple mediums, with artists hailing from the Pacific Northwest, U.S., and beyond each year.

The BFoA offers  rich and diverse works of art in a variety of mediums, showcased in an inviting urban setting, with tree-lined paths of art in a rare open-air venue. Attendees who visit the BFoA have the unique opportunity to view and purchase lovely works of art, as well as to meet and talk with the artists who create them firsthand. This year’s acclaimed local talents include Gunter Reimnitz, Justin Hillgrove, Sharrey Doré, Bob Wilfong, Juli Adams, Francisco Bautista, Pepe Moscoso, Kate Larsson, Ashmita Gulati, David Lutrick, Michelle Aitken, and more.

Arts at the Port in the waterfront Port Transit Shed in Anacortes, is the crown jewel of the Anacortes Arts Festival.   It consists of three unique juried exhibitions centered around the theme "Resonance". The pieces were selected by Pablo Schugurensky, the former Director of Collections at Microsoft and Vulcan Inc, Founder of META ARTE and Board President of Artist Trust.  This show includes work from 39 regional artists, representing a wide range of styles and mediums.The Opening is the first opportunity to see the work, meet the artists, and enjoy the unique waterfront gallery from 6-9pm.

Glass Fest Northwest, a community celebration of glass and the artists of our region puts glass art center stage on the plaza outside Museum of Glass . In addition to shopping for unique art, visitors will have the opportunity to watch live glassmaking demonstrations and spend the day enjoying music, entertainment, food, drink, and family fun activities. While the majority of the artists will be displaying and selling glass art, visitors will also find jewelry artisans, printmakers, wood workers, and more. Admission to MOG will be free for each visitor that provides a receipt from a purchase made with one of the Glass Fest artists. The event will run from 12 – 5pm on Sunday, July 23. The fest is a collaboration between the Museum of Glass and the Tacoma Art Museum.
