Allied Arts of Whatcom County, 1418 Cornwall, welcomes the 17th Annual Children’s Art Walk. The gallery will feature professional work by Allied Arts Teaching Artists in Whatcom County. Art will stay on display through May 31 in honor of the state wide Arts Education Month.
Each month Artwood Gallery, located at1000 Harris Avenue in historic Fairhaven, showcases a particular artist or category of work. In May, the member-artists will show some of their new work. Jim Hume will present his aptly-named Foot Stools; Michael Flaherty has a wall cabinet involving a section of Douglas Fir; David Gray’s contributions are a new cabinet, along with his popular Mutiny Bay chair; and Karen Healy will show an informal coffee table of forged steel and maple, as well as a small steel and stone pedestal table. Fourth Corner Frames & Gallery will be highlighting the imagination of young budding artists with a show titled: “From Refrigerator to Wall”. The exuberance of color and story are brought to life in every child’s masterpiece attached to the fridge that has, at last, found a well-deserved home on the wall. Special incentives on framing will be offered through May to take your child’s art from the refrigerator to the wall! Gallery Pegasus, 301 West Holly Street, Bellingham, is showing new artists through June 27 and will be open for the Bellingham Art Walk from6-9pm.
