Artwood Gallery, , 1000 Harris Avenue in Historic Fairhaven is Bellingham’s go-to location for wood furnishings designed and built by local artists. Featured in April are the paintings of Gary Giovane. Gary’s influences include the Northwest Coast, Celtic and Japanese styles, among others. He paints on cedar and each of his carefully crafted and decorative subjects is accompanied by the story of the event that inspired it.
On Sunday, April 23rd, as part of Dirty Dan Days in Fairhaven, Gary Giovane will be at Artwood to meet with visitors; and Jim Hume, another Artwood craftsman, will be on hand to demonstrate wood carving.
“Brilliant Hues ~ Spontaneous Style” opens at Fourth Corner Frames & Gallery, 311 W. Holly Street in Bellingham, on April 7 in a reception from 6-9pm. . Participating artists include: Denise Champion, Elaine McRory, Nick Payne, Laurie Potter, Phyllis Self, and Valeri Wade.The show will hang in the gallery through April 28.
