March 1 openings around Puget Sound

Allied Arts of Whatcom County, 1418 Cornwall Avenue in Bellingham, partners with the ceramics group Cascade Clay Artists on their art exhibit this March. The show  features the contemporary and traditional clay work of the members of Cascade Clay. The opening reception is  from 6-9pm.

 

 

Anchor Art Space, 216 Commercial Avenue in Anacortes, opens from 6-9pm during the Anacortes Art Walk, with “Ours,” a show about people taking up spaces, staking their claim, and making themselves heard through art.

 

 

childhoodChildhood’s End Gallery, 222 4th. Avenue W.  in Olympia, is featuring new works from  “Women Painters of Washington” through  April 21. Women Painters of Washington is a professional organization of female artists founded in 1930. The artists’ reception is March 1 from 5-7pm during the Olympia Art Walk.

 

 

Cole Gallery, 107 5th. Avenue S. in Edmonds, is featuring new-to-the-gallery artist Angela Bandurka for the month of March. A reception for the artist will be held during the Edmonds Art Walk on March 21 from 5-8pm.

 

 

Gallery North, 508 Main Street in Edmonds, their annual Miniature and Small Paintings Show for the month of March. The public invited to meet many of the artists at the awards reception on March 3 from 1-3pm. Another reception is planned during the Edmonds Art Walk on March 21.

 

 

A group show called “Human+Nature”  opens from 6-8:30pm  at Kirkland Arts Center, 620 Market Street in Kirkland. Among the artists is well-know northwest artist Karen Hackenberg.

 

 

ornamentalOrnamental Arts Gallery, 13805 Smokey Point Blvd. Suite 105 in Marysville, will feature Vicki Johnson’s  pastel paintings, in a reception on Friday, March 1 from 4-7:00pm. Vicki, an Arlington resident, has two degrees in Fine Arts (University of California at Chico and from Nanyang University in Singapore). She has lived and traveled extensively showing her work in Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, as well as, numerous US states. She is currently working in pastels with landscapes, architecture, and still life subjects. Shown: Monterey in May.

 

 

Roby King Galleries, 176 Winslow Way on Bainbridge Island, opens from 6-8pm with a solo exhibition featuring Raenell Doyle’s classical still life paintings. The show runs through March 30.

 

 

scottmiloScott Milo Gallery, 420 Commercial Avenue in Anacortes,  presents northwest pastels by Sandy Byers of Whidbey Island. Byers will do a pastel demonstration during opening reception on March 1 6-9pm. Also showing are acrylics by Jacqui Beck, photography by Dick Garvey, abstract oils by Donna Nevitt and acrylics and watercolors by Eric Wiegardt. theislandThe Island Gallery, 400 Winslow Way E on Bainbridge Island, opens from 6-8pm with “Bonnets, Baskets and Beads,” hints of spring. Shown: Felted Wool Basket with Speckled Feathers, Doriane Neiburgs.
