Special Tintin collectible event coming to Crackerjack Contemporary Crafts September 30 – October 9
A Tintin Extravaganza will take place at Crackerjack Contemporary Crafts, 1815 N. 45th #212 in the Wallingford District of Seattle from September 30 through October 9. On view will be a special collection of licensed Tintin limited edition prints, resin sculptures, new books and more. The opening reception is on September 30 from 5-8pm. On October 8 from 11am-4pm the gallery is hosting a special Tintin party and encourages all to come dressed as your favorite Tintin character. Tintin is a series of books that first appeared in French in Le Petit Vingtième, a children’s supplement to the Belgian newspaper Le XXe Siècle in January 1929 and enjoyed immediate world-wide success as it was translated into other languages. More recently Tintin mania swept a Belgian auction house in May 2009 with almost 600 lots associated with Hergé, creator of the famous cartoon reporter, breaking national and world sales records, an expert said. The Steven Spielberg movie, “The Adventures of Tintin,” is to be released in theatres December 23.
