New exhibits open October 9 at Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner

Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen replicates flora and fauna, creating lifelike specimens and richly textured assemblages that pay tribute to animals, insects, and plants in her glass pieces. Her exhibition, “A Journey in Glass,” opens October 9 and runs through January 2 at the Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner. Showing at the same time is an exhibition of promised gifts from the Paul I. Gingrich, Jr., collection of prominent Northwest artists.  Artists include Guy Anderson, Kenneth Callahan, William Colby, Judy Cooke, Richard Gilkey, Morris Graves, Anne Hirondelle, Paul Horiuchi, Walter Issacs, William Ivey, Lee Kelly, John- Franklin Koenig, Phillip Levine, Allan Lobb, James Martin, Alden Mason, Philip McCracken, Hilda Morris, Lucinda Parker, Michael Spafford, Mark Tobey, Margaret Tomkins, George Tsutakawa, Gerard Tsutakawa, and Windsor Utley.
