New shows around Puget Sound on June 4
Allied Arts of Whatcom County, continues with “Bellingham by Land, Sea & Sky” featuring Ron Pattern and James Williamson. The public is invited to the opening night celebration held during the Bellingham Art Walk from 6pm to 10pm. There will be an exhibit walk through with the artist from 6pm to 7pm on opening night. The show runs through June 26.
Bainbridge Arts and Crafts, 151 Winslow Way E., opens for the Bainbridge Art Walk from 6-8pm with “The Shell,” an exploration by gallery artists using sculpture, painting, photography, and metaphor. The show continues until June 29. Shown: Laurel Lukaszewski, Memory of the Sea.
The Gasworks Gallery, 3815 4th. Ave. NE in Seattle, celebrates the delivery of mass spuds to Northwest Harvest with their annual summer party and studio opening from 8-10pm. Storable food items for the Northwest Harvest are welcomed.
Pottery Northwest, 226 First Avenue North in Seattle, opens “Four by Four #2” in a reception from 6-8pm. Residents Alicia Basinger, Erin Campbell, Alya Khan, and Natsue Makino have each invited a guest who has impacted their work in some meaningful way. As the show name implies, this is the second in the Four by Four gallery series featuring gallery artists and also new/up-and-coming (and some established, but non-Seattle-area) artists.
Scott-Milo Gallery, 1004 Commercial Avenue in Anacortes, opens for the Anacortes Art Walk with “Watercolors & Acrylics” by Greg Prince of Snohomish. Also showing are oils by Diane Ainsworth, pastels by Coizie Bettinger, watercolors by Helen Brown and oils by Keith Sorenson.The reception with the artists is Friday, June 4 from 6-9pm and artist Greg Prince will be doing a painting demonstration during the reception. The show closes June 29.
The Island Gallery, 100/106 Madison Avenue on Bainbridge Island, opens “Animals ~ Artists, Mystery & Inspiration,” in an online virtual exhibition at www.theislandgallery.net/shop/ . The show features the work of a group of artists who share their insights into the relationship between animals and man. Shown: a piece by James Kelsey.
